Blithely ignorant Galliano

So, you've probably heard. John Galliano, ex- creative director of Christian Dior, was caught making very Anti-Semantic comments in a pub, while apparently intoxicated.

I am very surprised by this, as people in ~fashion are often considered very "liberal" and "open", what with the gay members and all, and the whole concept of fashion in general...

But, besides that, It's interesting how Galliano's personal thoughts on a matter that has no relevance to the clothes he designs will ultimately alter his career. Sometimes I think that we ought to look at what a specific person's traits for a job will be, and forget the rest. I also think of this when politicians cheat on their significant other, because what does that have to do with raising the United States' GDP? Yet, I suppose, on some ethical or moral ground, all the decisions we make are based on our values, so everything is altered by our thoughts, so everything is of relevance.

/rant. I am clearly tired/exhausted from studying so much Chemistry/Physics while procrastinating.

Oh, Post Note: A lot of people have commented on the apparent irony at Galliano's anti Semantic remarks, while having Natalie Portman, a Jewish woman, take over Maryna Linchuk as the face of the Miss Cherie Dior perfume. Well, I can only imagine that he had little decision over the face of his perfume, or that he thinks of his fashion business as separate from his personal thoughts and realizes that other people may value Jewish people more than he does.
